We know we’re funding what matters to Nova Scotians with 100% of gaming profits supporting important programs and services. In 2016-17, $144.6 million was paid to the Province to fund healthcare, roads, schools, cultural sector and sports.

Awarded winning jackpots to Nova Scotians. In fact, NSPLCC’s operator, the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, awarded six lucky Nova Scotian families with prizes over $1 million in 2016-17.

Revitalized the Sydney casino in June 2016 with a $1 million investment by Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (GCGC). This resulted in higher visitation for the casino with a refreshed gaming floor and renovated restaurant as well as an expansion of the Ceilidh Room that has enhanced entertainment options.

Our 2016-17 results show that 84% of Nova Scotians support our commitment to responsible gambling up from 80% the previous fiscal year. We believe that if we do our very best in setting this bar high, we will continue to earn the trust of the people to whom we are accountable.

Replaced terminals with new offerings through a phased rollout plan. An additional 141 VLTs have been retired through attrition since 2011.

We take our job of responsible management seriously. That’s why we rescheduled some planned lottery initiatives, and 20 new digital instant games to address software issues. These new offerings will be better positioned for success and responsible enjoyment when they launch in 2017-18.

Delivered 11 responsible gambling programs, including Responsible Gambling Training for staff working in the industry.

2016 marked the 15th annual Responsible Gambling Awareness Week, Balance is the Name of the Game.

Balance is the Name of the Game campaign achieved 100% of its objectives, including exceeding its goal on the percentage of Nova Scotians that support regulated gambling.

The campaign illustrated the importance of gambling responsibly while having fun and balancing gambling with other entertainment activities.
